These Terms of Use govern your use of Limbur.

By creating an account or using Limbur, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the service.

Limbur is operated by Omar El Atyqy.

About Limbur

Limbur is a reading companion that allows you to capture passages from books and create visual interpretations of people, places, and scenes described in those passages.

Limbur uses artificial intelligence and other automated systems to analyze submitted material and generate content.

AI-generated results may be incomplete, inaccurate, inconsistent, or different from how you personally interpret a book. Generated images are creative interpretations and are not authoritative representations of a work or its characters.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining control of the device and Apple account you use to access Limbur.

You may delete your Limbur account through the app.

Deleting your account permanently removes the associated Limbur library and generated content once deletion is successfully completed. Deleted content may not be recoverable.

If you create a new account after deletion, it is treated as a new Limbur account.

Your content

You retain whatever rights you have in material you submit to Limbur.

You give Limbur permission to process, store, transform, and transmit submitted material solely as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the functionality of the service.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of material submitted to Limbur is lawful.

Limbur is intended as a personal reading companion. You must not use it to systematically reproduce, distribute, publish, or commercially exploit copyrighted books or other material in ways that violate applicable law or the rights of others.

Generated content

Illustrations and other generated material are produced automatically based on information available to Limbur at the time of generation.

We do not guarantee that generated content will be factually accurate, visually consistent in every case, or faithful to every detail of the underlying source material.

You should not rely on generated content for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other high-stakes decisions.

Moments

Certain visual actions in Limbur use Moments.

A Moment is spent when you request an eligible visual operation, such as bringing a passage to life or creating another version of an existing illustration.

New accounts may receive a limited number of complimentary Moments.

Additional Moments may be purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system.

Moments are consumable digital units for use within Limbur. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred between users, and cannot be exchanged for money.

A Moment that has already been consumed by a successfully initiated eligible operation is not restored merely because you later delete your account.

Purchases and refunds

All purchases made through the iOS app are processed by Apple and are subject to the App Store's applicable payment and refund policies.

Limbur does not directly process your payment-card information.

Where Apple approves a refund or otherwise modifies a transaction, Limbur may adjust the associated entitlement or Moment balance where necessary and technically possible.

Prices and available Moment packs may change in the future.

Acceptable use

You must not misuse Limbur or attempt to interfere with its operation.

In particular, you may not use the service to violate applicable law or the rights of others, attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems, deliberately disrupt or overload the service, circumvent technical restrictions or security controls, automate abusive use of the service, or use Limbur to distribute unlawful or harmful material.

We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect Limbur, other users, our providers, or the integrity of the service.

Intellectual property

Limbur, including its application software, interface, branding, original design elements, and other material created by us, is owned by or licensed to Omar El Atyqy and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of Limbur or its underlying technology to you.

Third-party books, cover artwork, trademarks, metadata, and other material remain the property of their respective rights holders.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Limbur available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Features may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, infrastructure failures, service-provider outages, capacity limitations, or other technical reasons.

We may modify, add, remove, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary as Limbur develops.

We may also change the technical providers used to operate Limbur without changing the fundamental nature of the service.

Third-party services

Limbur relies on third-party services including Apple, Supabase, Microsoft Azure, Neo4j, and other infrastructure or content providers.

We are not responsible for outages, policies, or actions of those independent services beyond what applicable law requires.

Your use of Apple services, including Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases, is also governed by Apple's applicable terms.

Disclaimer

Limbur is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law.

We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, that generated content will always be correct or consistent, or that every feature will work without interruption.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Omar El Atyqy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or purely economic losses arising from your use of Limbur or inability to use it.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using Limbur at any time and may delete your account through the app.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated violations of these Terms, unlawful activity, security threats, abuse of the service, or requirements imposed by law.

Where practical and appropriate, we will attempt to provide notice before taking such action.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction determined by applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Limbur changes.

If a change is material, we may provide notice through the app or another reasonable method. Continued use of Limbur after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
